Max Utech is a licensed architect based in Vienna and Paris and is working between urbanism, architecture and art. His focus lies on the inclusive and affordable development of our urban habitat towards a transformative, caring and empowering environment. 

 

He currently teaches and researches at the Institute of Housing and Design at TU Wien and was among others guest reviewer for the AA London, ENSA Belleville Paris, ESA Paris and Politecnico di Milano.

In 2020, he was awarded the "Margarete-Schütte-Lihotzky" scholarship by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Arts and Culture and was resident at Cité internationale des arts in Paris and at ZK/U - Center for Art and Urbanistics in Berlin.

Together with Bernadette Krejs he is founder of Palace of Un/Learning - an artistic-activist intervention, that is exploring, inventing, negotiating and sharing counter-hegemonic design strategies providing un/built structures for a most possible diverse (queer-feminist) urban society. In 2023 they were able to collaborate with Fundació Mies van der Rohe Barcelona, Oslo Architecture Triennale, Irish Architecture Foundation Dublin, Design Academy Eindhoven, Viper Gallery & UMPRUM Prague and Archfondas Vilnius.
